Door card bolt covers

I bought my car back in 2016 and as beautiful as the interior is, I was always disappointed that the front door cards were missing these tiny bolt covers which exposes the disassembly for the door.

Upon checking these cost about 50 pounds to ship from the UK which isn’t worth the hassle to me.

Wouldn’t this be a good opportunity to practice some Cad and 3D printing while at the same time improving the aesthetic of my car’s interior?

The trickiest part of the design process was creating a curvature in the Z-axis to have a smooth and consistent transition.

I will post the finished product once I snap a nice daylight picture.

3D Printing

Recently I was persuaded by a co-worker to finally bite the bullet and invest my Christmas bonus into a Creality Ender 3 S1 printer.

After reading some reviews and envisioning some interesting ideas for it’s use, I was convinced.

The order was place and the printer arrived within 3 business days. Well packed and easy to setup, I was printing printing within the hour.

I’m looking forward to making some neat little gadgets for around the house.
Time to learn how to CAD.
